Fethard Town Park received the keys to their new Community Pavilion today. Mulcahy Construction who have excelled in building the state of the art facility, officially handed over the keys of the completed project to Maurice Moloney, Director, Fethard Town Park.

The new facility will provide a shared multi-use facility with changing rooms, meeting room, fitness studio, gym and coffee dock to compliment the already in situ full size all-weather and grass playing pitches, walkway, sensory garden and parkland developed on a 26 acre site in Fethard adjacent to local primary and secondary schools.

Speaking at the event, Maurice Moloney stated, ‘Having first broached the idea back in 2008, it is momentous to finally get the keys to the community pavilion today. Collaboration and shared vision with our partners has been pivotal in ensuring the key objective of shared community facilities was achieved in Fethard Town Park and we look forward to welcoming everyone through the doors in the coming weeks and months.”

The multi-million-euro facility has been developed with the support of Tipperary County Council and The Magnier Family in addition to numerous supporting bodies, contributions and community fundraising.  With a specific focus on health & wellbeing, Fethard Town Park marks the first project to receive funding under the Rural Regeneration Development Fund to be completed in Co. Tipperary. The €2.6m commitment by Government shows the positive impact Project Ireland 2040 is having on rural regeneration across the country.
